Yo también soy una víctima de la rotura de stock del Studio 17 i7.

Lo encargué el 15/12/2009 y me estimaron la entrega para el 08/02/2010. Hace 3 días (01/02/2009) cambió la página de seguimiento de pedido. Nueva fecha de entrega para mayo (06/05/2010).

Llamo y me dicen que la pantalla de 1900x1080 ni la tienen ni se la espera tampoco para mayo. Que me pida un Studio 17 de los que hay ahora (Core 2), para los cuales por cierto también tienen problemas de stock o un XPS (16'' y 600 euros más caro por las mismas características), o que cancele el pedido. Me ofrecen un descuento del 5% para el XPS.

En definitiva, que o me quedo con algo peor (y espero mucho), o pago más (y espero) o me quedo como estaba, descontados los intereses que NO me pagan por tener retenidos 1000 y pico euros durante 3 meses y los perjuicios que me ocasiona el no disponer del portátil que me habían prometido para febrero.

Siguiente paso: cancelar el pedido, poner una reclamación y llamar a la OCU. Ya os iré contando.

Bueno os pongo el post publicado en el foro de DELL por el administrador del Blog que tuvo una reunión con los ingenieros para ver el problema de potencia de los i7. Está para el XPS16 pero entiendo que será aplicable también para el 1747 ya que tiene los mismos problemas.

Okay, the call just finished. A lot of interesting data and I'm still working my way through it. Saw some interesting data on their tests using Crysis at different settings levels, with power draws, FPS, etc. Man, how do I get the job playing these games to test hardware?
I'm still putting together the details on what we can and can't release right now, but I will say that the BIOS that they have being validated right now makes a big difference. (and no, my saying that doesn't mean that its a bios only fix with no adapters, so don't worry). We don't have an ETA at this point on when that bios revision will pass validation. It could sail through really quickly and work perfectly or they could find a major problem with the algorithms and feel the need to start over again. When it comes to software development that just is a fact of life. What seems to work perfectly well in theory doesn't end up working the way you planned when it gets tested.
They showed us some of their test data on CPU usage and spiking. I'm paraphrasing but they basically said "the current algorithm is not optimized to maximize processor usage. There are issues in the BIOS that, after the system spikes from heavy use it was taking too long to reset to normal power states". (Like I've said before, I'm no electrical engineer). They were taling about different CPU performance states (P-State and T-State), and a lot of that was over my head.
They are pushing to get that validation completed as quickly as possible but there are hurdles that need to be overcome. Since the systems affected all have different configurations possible they're working to validate the different needs. That means you may see a BIOS come out for one model before the others. That won't mean the others won't get updates.
It's nearly 10pm here. I'm going to get together with Brad and Bill tomorrow so we can go over all this information we got tonight and make sure we all understand everything so there aren't any communication errors moving forward.

He instado mis aplicaciones de trabajo Office 2007, CONTAWIN, PHOTOSHOT cs3

He instaldo call of duty II.. CON LAS OPCIONES A TOPE.

Me he acostado a las 6.20 de la madrugada... jugando. trabajando.,, etc...

Se bloquea..: NO
Se calienta..: NO, para nada, mÁs se me calienta el AUS A7J de 17"
Se calienta el adaptador..: PARA NADA lo normal.
Corren los programas.. ? SI, van echando leches...
Lo de la pantalla tactil....: UN PLIPE,,,, me ahorra tiempo

Algo malo..? SI, No va el MEDIA CENTER... Ya veré porque.

Todo ello sin formatear nada... y compré WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE.

Espero que me continue así, y si no lo hace que sea antes de 4 años.

no se puede llamar de sobremesa porque lo tengo montadito en la pared para que no moleste, solo lo pongo para que veais que soy exigente y no me conformo con cualquier cosa y maxime cuando todo vale una pasta.

De todas formas yo no lo he exprimido tanto como pamaile, voy a formatear ahora y esta noche sera cuando lo exprima.

Pues parece que DELL dice que para solucionar el problema de potencia no es necesario un nuevo A/C sino que con una nueva BIOS se solucionará. ¿les creemos?

The engineering team is confident that they can alleviate any power throttling issues with the BIOS revision they currently have in validation. Their determination was that the 1747 won't require a 130w adapter to work correctly.

a mi se me bloqueó un par de veces, pero las dos por tems de soft

una por instalar el nod32 2.7 al reiniciar(no sé si porq era el 32bits no lo sé); al final he instalado el kaspersky

la otra después de instalar los codecs del klite para ver peliculas en hd, y abrir el media player, con el zplayer los videos en hd van estupendos

así a bote pronto la conexión wifi va estupenda (y eso q la mia no es n), las salidas de video a monitor y a panatalla lcd van estupendas, mejor de lo q esperaba, por cierto q la salida hdmi está optimizada para un televisor, un monitor por la hdmi se ve bastante mal, sin embargo por la salida vga se ve de vicio, casi mejor q conectándolo al pc de sobremesa por la dvi

Asi da gusto. Muchas gracias Darkevil por mantenernos informados sobre el problema de nuestro portatil. A ver si por fin se llega a una solucion y se queda el portatil a full.
